Hello,
I’m trying to create a container to access on port 80. I tried to run
docker run --name=nextcloud -e PUID=1000 -e PGID=1000 -e TZ=Europe/Paris -p 80:80 -p 443:443 -v /home/foo/nextcloud/config:/config -v /home/foo/data:/data --restart unless-stopped nextcloud
and I’m redirected to https://_
I also tried to configure nginx default with :
server {
listen 80;
server_name _;
return 301 https://$server_name$request_uri;
}
Use the follwing nginx config, it is the default one with http swapped out for https.
upstream php-handler {
server 127.0.0.1:9000;
}
server {
listen 80;
listen [::]:80;
server_name _;

forgot to mention this file is:
/config/nginx/site-confs/default
In your container
Thank you for the answer. Do I need to restart the container or nginx ?
You cannot mange services inside a container you always need to restart your container when you make config changes.
@TheLamer Thank, I didn’t know that ! I can successfully access the login page and when I enter the right credentials I’m always redirected to https. I edited the config file of nextcloud and replaced https to http but it didn’t worked. Here is my config.php
<?php
$CONFIG = array (
'memcache.local' => '\\OC\\Memcache\\APCu',
'datadirectory' => '/data',
'instanceid' => 'oce03387e20t',
'passwordsalt' => 'Ol2ZBnfic/kpn3veLIdkhTeUWFvBDw',
'secret' => 'E4d/GZu4Sq9vP82yf2gin9yHCjynlw5uPghZwd8AX22705pI',
'trusted_domains' =>
array (
0 => '192.168.0.1:8080',
),
'dbtype' => 'sqlite3',
'version' => '16.0.1.1',
'overwrite.cli.url' => 'http://192.168.0.1:8080',
'installed' => true,
);
I found how to fix it. In the sample config file you share I had to edit these parts :
location = /.well-known/carddav {
return 301 $scheme://$host/remote.php/dav;
}
location = /.well-known/caldav {
return 301 $scheme://$host/remote.php/dav;
}
to
location = /.well-known/carddav {
return 301 http://$host/remote.php/dav;
}
location = /.well-known/caldav {
return 301 http://$host/remote.php/dav;
}
Well, I’m again facing an issue. I can access the login page but until I connect I’m redirected to the https protocol. I’m wondering what’s happening. Thanks for any help.
Here is my default

Hi,
I would like to activate http an https.
I tried several configuration, including the one only for http from @TheLamer with the fix from @executable .
Nothing works.
I always get redirectet to https://_
Which option in the default configuration sets this redirect?
I deactivated
return 301 https://$server_name$request_uri;
from the beginning and restartet the docker container.
