I created the docker and added a password: mypassword
Open the console, type: mysql -u root -p
Enter the password and I get:
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user ‘root’@’localhost’ (using password: YES)
FWIW, I’ve tried sudo and I get: sh: 2: sudo: not found
I have other dockers working fine. I’ve deleted the docker and image and started from scratch. I also tried this on another unRaid system 6.9.2 and got the same result.
post the command you used to create the container and the docker log for it

did you create the container with a different password and then change it later in unraid gui? If so, that has no effect. The password is set from vars only if there is no existing data (ie. first ever install)
I created the container with the unraid gui and included the password at that time.
Just wiped it out and did it again to confirm.
Also wiped it again and created the container with no password. Tried mysql -u root and I got Access denied ...
does your password contain special characters? if yes, try removing them all and test with a basic alphanumeric. if that works, please tell me the special characters you had in your password.
