Radarr: Failed to create CoreCLR, HRESULT: 0x80004005

Hi, a few months ago I started having a problem with radarr. It updated and after the update Radarr would crash and I started getting this error over and over in the log…

Failed to create CoreCLR, HRESULT: 0x80004005

I simply rolled it back and it continued to work and I forgot about it. I had to change some things recently so I removed and reinstalled radarr and then this error started again. I rolled it back to…

radarr:3.2.2.5080-ls116

and it is working again. But Im not sure if it will keep working or crash in 12 to 24 hours like it usually does.

I would like to fix this because Id like to run updated versions of radarr. I figure it has to be something with my setup because I have searched but not found anyone else having this problem. Lidarr does the same thing, So there has to be something common between them.

My specs are…

OS: unRAID 6.9.0 and now 6.9.10-rc2 I thought updating might fix it but I guess not.

Supermicro X10DRi-T4+ Mobo with dual Xeon E5-2699v4

Thanks

post a full docker log (including our banner)

I started the container and then copied the running log. I will install another instance and let it run until it crashes and post file. Usually takes 12 to 24 hours for a new install to start doing it.

Thanks

I had to break apart the links because I’m a new user I guess.

So I installed a 3rd instance, because I had 2 already, and it immediately had the error. Odd because it will usually run for a day before it does it. Different name, different appdata folder but everything else was default settings.

Thanks for the help.

So I have been running lscr.io/linuxserver/radarr:3.2.2.5080-ls116 for 2.5 days and it has not crashed. Does anyone know what the difference is? Can I keep running this version without any problems? This is from about when it started crashing.

the differences are just base OS package updates. you’re potentially exposing yourself to some security risk going back to a mid-october release, but assuming you aren’t exposing radarr to the internet (you shouldn’t be) it may not matter.

“Failed to initialize CoreCLR, HRESULT: 0x80004005” when $TMPDIR is not writeable/nonexistent · Issue #3168 · dotnet/runtime (github.com)

according to this, it could be some host side issues, which i assume is your issue too since no one else has reported any problems.

you could try testing nightly-alpine
