Alternatively to code-server, now Microsoft supports Visual Studio Code Server, which allows to run vscode on both browser or a remote instance reachable through vscode.dev

I’ve followed these steps for a local installation:
And everything seems to work fine.
I’ve also tried an instance on my Raspberry PI using this image, even in this case everything works without any kind of log-in or signup form.
