The wording for updating Plex has always confused me since I first started using Plex in a Docker container

The wording when an update is available says that you have to download the update, using the download button, and to then manually install it. I’ve since found out that a simple restart of the container will install the update.

Should the wording perhaps be changed to say something like "restart the container to install the update so that it’s less confusing? I’d like to think that I’m not the only one to be confused by this.

Also, if I set VERSION=public, should I not use the latest tag for the image? Does it matter if both are used together?

TIA

Those are Plex’s words, not ours.

We don’t control the wording in the plex app.

Those are two separate things and you’re supposed to use both.

Oh of course! Sorry about that.
